Secretary of Defense Donald H. Rumsfeld thanks one of the many Military District of Washington soldiers working at the site of a terrorist attack on the Pentagon. During a Sept. 12, 2001, visit to the scene of the disaster Rumsfeld and President George W. Bush toured the crash site and thanked the fire fighters, police officers, search and rescue personnel, FBI investigators and other professionals at the disaster site.
