Secretary of Defense Donald H. Rumsfeld addresses the audience during a Dec. 11, 2001, Pentagon ceremony in remembrance of those who perished in the terrorist attack on Sept. 11th. The ceremony began with the presentation of the colors and the playing of the National Anthem at 9:38 a.m., the precise time American Airlines Flight 77 impacted the southwest face of the building killing 184 people. The ceremony is part of a day of remembrance proclaimed by President George W. Bush. Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Richard B. Myers, U.S. Air Force joined Rumsfeld in the remembrance ceremony.
