Soldiers from the 489th Civil Affairs Battalion, of Knoxville, Tenn., inspect the progress being made on the construction of a new school in the Parwan Province of Afghanistan on Sept. 8, 2002. The soldiers are members of the Coalition/ Humanitarian Liaison Cell, and are currently overseeing the construction of six schools, two bridges, a major tunnel, and two fresh water pumps in the province.
