Secretary of Defense Donald H. Rumsfeld tells reporters how the Iraqi regime is using hospitals as military headquarters, schools as armories and moving artillery pieces into Baghdad residential neighborhoods. Rumsfeld and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Richard B. Myers, U.S. Air Force, gave reporters an update on the progress of Operation Iraqi Freedom during an April 7, 2003, Pentagon press briefing. Operation Iraqi Freedom is the multinational coalition effort to liberate the Iraqi people, eliminate Iraq's weapons of mass destruction and end the regime of Saddam Hussein.
