Secretary of Defense Donald H. Rumsfeld and Secretary of Labor Elaine L. Chao sign a memorandum of understanding on July 11, 2003, at the Pentagon that will ease re-entry into the civilian workforce by military personnel. The memorandum will strengthen Department of Labor efforts to support returning reservists' job search, expand American's Job Bank to include recruiting for military jobs, expand Department of Labor employment infrastructures to support employment of military spouses, and encourage corporate America to hire returning reservists and military spouses.
