The audience is observing a moment of silence at exactly 9:37 a.m.--the exact time American Airlines Flight 77 impacted the south west side of the building. Secretary of Defense Donald H. Rumsfeld and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Richard B. Myers will place a memorial wreath at the monument to the victims.
