Wolfowitz visited Briscoe and other wounded soldiers from Iraq and Afghanistan before joining President Bush at Arlington National Cemetery for the traditional Veterans Day observances. Briscoe, a 16-year Army veteran, was seriously wounded when a rocket-propelled grenade hit his vehicle in Iraq.
