Paul Sakala and Ryan Benoist clean their 120-millimeter mortar tube after firing high explosive rounds from Forward Operating Base Wilson in Iraq on Nov. 21, 2004. The mortar team is responsible for counter fire and terrain denial when anti-coalition forces fire mortar and rockets at the base. The soldiers are assigned to Charlie Troop, 1st Battalion, 4th Cavalry Regiment, 1st Infantry Division.
