A U.S. Marine Corps M1A1 Abrams tank fires into a building that Marines had received fire from during a firefight in Fallujah, Iraq, in support of Operation al Fajr (New Dawn) on Dec. 10, 2004. Operation al Fajr is an offensive operation to eradicate enemy forces within the city of Fallujah in support of continuing security and stabilization operations in the Al Anbar province of Iraq by units of the 1st Marine Division. The M1A1 is assigned to the 2nd Tank Battalion.
