Secretary of Defense Donald H. Rumsfeld (right) and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen Richard B. Myers, U.S. Air Force, briefed Pentagon reporters on what they had seen during their Sunday Sept. 4th visit to the areas of the Gulf Coast ravaged by Hurricane Katrina during a press briefing on Sept. 6, 2005. Rumsfeld and Myers enumerated figures on the vast amounts of aid being provided by and through the military both active duty as well as National Guard and Reserves to the victims of this natural disaster.
