Commander of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Lt. Gen. Carl Strock briefs reporters in the Pentagon concerning the current status of Hurricane Katrina relief operations being conducted by the Corps along the U.S. Gulf Coast on Sept. 15, 2005. Strock reported that all major Gulf ports are now open for commerce during daylight hours. The Corps has yet to complete the installation of certain navigational aids required for night operations.
