U.S. Marines ford a river as they return from search and rescue efforts in the village of Guinsaugon, Philippines, on Feb. 22, 2006. Sailors and Marines from the amphibious assault ship USS Essex (LHD 2) and the dock landing ship USS Harpers Ferry (LSD 49) are providing humanitarian assistance for the victims of the Feb. 17, 2006, landslide in the village of Guinsaugon on the island of Leyte. These Marines are attached to Echo 2, Battalion 5, 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit.
