U.S. Marines with 3rd Platoon, India Company, 3rd Battalion, 6th Marine Regiment conduct a patrol in Marja, Helmand province, Afghanistan, on Feb. 16, 2010. During the patrol the Marines found a large cache of improvised explosive device-making materials which were destroyed. The Marines and soldiers from the Afghan National Army have been conducting counterinsurgency operations in the province since January.
