A U.S. Marine Corps corporal with the 4th Platoon, Charlie Company, 3rd Assault Amphibian Battalion, 1st Marine Division cleans a .50-caliber machine gun on top of an amphibious assault vehicle in the well deck of the amphibious transport dock ship USS New Orleans (LPD 18) in Peru on July 26, 2010. The unit is deployed in support of operation Partnership of the Americas/Southern Exchange, a combined amphibious exercise to enhance cooperative partnerships with maritime forces from Argentina, Mexico, Peru, Brazil, Uruguay and Colombia.
