U.S. service members transport rescued persons through the Gulf of Aden in a rigid-hull inflatable boat to the amphibious dock ship USS Pearl Harbor (LSD 52) on Sept. 29, 2010. The personnel were rescued on Sept. 27, 2010, by sailors assigned to the USS Winston S. Churchill (DDG 81) after their small boat capsized. The rescued persons were first brought aboard the Winston S. Churchill where they received food, water and medical attention before being transferred to the Pearl Harbor.
