Virginia Andrews-Arce, a senior licensed practical nurse with the 541st Forward Surgical Team, comforts Hamed, a five-year-old Afghan boy, following surgery to repair the boy’s broken leg at Camp Pannonia, Afghanistan, on Dec. 19, 2010. The surgical team is made up of ten members and provides surgical and resuscitative care to the Pol-e Khumri region of Afghanistan.
