Secretary of Defense Robert M. Gates and Canadian Defense Minister Peter MacKay conduct a joint press conference at the Old City Hall in Ottawa, Canada, on Jan. 27, 2011. Gates is in Canada to attend trilateral meetings with his counterparts from Canada and Mexico, but the Mexican Defense Minister fell ill and could not attend the meetings. Gates and MacKay continued the discussions on topics such as Afghanistan, hemisphere issues, as well as Russia and China.
