Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Adm. Mike Mullen presents the Purple Heart to U.S. Army Spc. Preston M. Hodge at Bagram Air Base, Afghanistan, on Aug. 1, 2011. Hodge was injured when his mounted patrol came under a small arms and rocket-propelled grenade attack. Mullen is on a five-day USO tour with comedian Jon Stewart, NBA legend Karl Malone and magician David Blane visiting troops in Afghanistan and Iraq.
