Army Pvt. 1st Class Lucas Ternell puts out a small debris fire in a yard in Salisbury, Md., on Aug. 27, 2011. Ternell is a volunteer firefighter assigned to the 20th Military Police Company, Maryland National Guard. Ternell was aboard Rescue 16, one of several fire and rescue engines that reported to the fire inside a residential neighborhood. Guard members are providing support during the Hurricane Irene response.
