Flight deck crew members give the thumbs up to launch an E-2C Hawkeye from the USS John C. Stennis (CVN 74) as the aircraft carrier conducts flight operations in the Indian Ocean on Sept. 17, 2011. Stennis is deployed to the U.S. 5th Fleet area of responsibility to conduct maritime security operations and support missions as part of Operation Enduring Freedom and New Dawn. The Hawkeye is attached to Airborne Early Warning Squadron 112.
