U.S. Navy Petty Officer 1st Class Matthew Hawkins carries an infant aboard the Military Sealift Command hospital ship USNS Mercy in the waters off Papua New Guinea, June 30, 2015. At the request of the government, the Mercy launched a helicopter to transport six passengers, including one infant, who swam ashore after their ship sank. Hawkins is a hospital corpsman assigned to Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron.
