Arresting Cable

U.S. Air Force Staff Sgt. Timothy Shearer and Senior Airman Yves Meillarec work on the aircraft arresting cable system on Bagram Airfield, Afghanistan, Oct. 22, 2015. Shearer and Meillarec are assigned to the 455th Expeditionary Civil Engineer Squadron. Pilots will engage the arresting system during some precautionary landings to help slow or stop their aircraft.
