Marines monitor the flow rate of a beach termination unit from the USNS Vadm K .R. Wheeler during Exercise Ssang Yong 16 on Dogu Beach, South Korea, March 15, 2016. The Wheeler is equipped with an Offshore Petroleum Distribution System that transfers fuel from a tanker to depots ashore from up to eight miles off the coast. It simulated pumping fuel to Ssang Yong 16 ground forces by running sea water through its systems to storage tanks. Ssang Yong is a biennial military exercise focused on strengthening the amphibious landing capabilities of South Korea, the U.S., New Zealand and Australia. Marine Corps photo by Lance Cpl. Juan C.
