WBAMC employs state-of-the-art knee implant for first time in DoD
Army Maj. (Dr.) E’Stephan Garcia, orthopedic sports medicine surgeon assigned to William Beaumont Army Medical Center, Fort Bliss, Texas, prepares a new Food and Drug Administration-approved implant for fitting during the Defense Department’s first knee cartilage surgery of its kind, Feb. 9, 2017. The implant provides faster treatments, reduced impact and an additional treatment option for injuries that previously may have been treated with total or partial knee replacement.
