Unveiling Ceremony
Sailors and members of the New York Fire Department members salute the American flag as it is lowered to half-staff and hold a moment of silence for those who lost their lives in the 9/11 attacks during the memorial unveiling ceremony and remembrance ceremony at Point Lookout, New York, Sept. 11, 2017. The sailors are assigned to the Navy Recruiting District New York and Navy Operational Support Center Long Island, took part in the unveiling of the memorial, which includes a steel beam from the World Trade Center, plaques with the names of the victims, an elevated walkway and additional plaques with the names of first responders who have passed away from illnesses related to recovery efforts at ground zero.
