U.S. and Japanese pilots and crew chiefs review the mission flight plan for a training sortie during the 66th Operation Christmas Drop at Andersen Air Force Base, Guam, Dec. 11, 2017. The U.S. airmen are assigned to the 36th Airlift Squadron. The Japanese airmen are assigned to Japan Air Self Defense Force. Over the course of 10 days, the aircrews airdropped food, critical supplies and educational materials to 20,000 islanders covering 1.8 million square nautical miles of operating area.
