Wildfire Training
Soldiers conduct firefighting training to prepare for the real-world wildfires at the Spring Creek Fire helipad on Fort Garland, Colo., July 6, 2018. The soldiers are firefighters assigned to the Colorado National Guard’s 1157th Engineer Company, and have supported the Spring Creek Fire since July 1, 2018. They provide: security personnel for traffic control points and roving patrols; two UH-60 Black Hawk helicopter crews and aircraft each equipped with aerial water buckets; geological information system operators; refueling crews with Heavy Expanded Mobility Tactical refueling trucks and firefighters with HEMTT firefighting vehicles.
